See the discussion we had.

The results are in, caps it is. -- Gemini

Okay. I've noticed that you are going through some of the transcripts and are fixing them, Gemini. Are you going in any particular order? I just don't want to be doing the same ones that you are. -- Tom

Also, now we need to figure out what we need from the /oldpage to put here. I kind of started on it a little bit, but it needs a lot of work.

Uh, Gemini... Could you answer my above question here? And it's nice that you added a sample from a transcript, but I think we might need a little explanation too... -- Tom

BUBS: Shining up a chicken in the mo'nin', mo'nin',

{Strong Bad walks up to the consession stand}

STRONG BAD: Hey, Bubs, read this sign for me!

BUBS: {Squinting} Duck-A-La-Range

{We see the sign from behind Bubs revealing that it says "Duck-A-La-Range"}

STRONG BAD: What?! {He turns it around and gets out a walkie-talkie} The Cheat, I thought I told you to make it say "Sbu"!

{The screen splits in half to reveal The Cheat sitting next to Strong Bad's computer. There is a sign above the computer with a Strongbadified skull and crossbones that says "Home Base".}

THE CHEAT: Menememah!

STRONG BAD: Oh, you really want your Duck-a-la-range, don't you? You know we can't afford to eat like that! {Under his breath} Besides, aren't you a duck anyway?

THE CHEAT: {Angry} Menemanah!

STRONG BAD: I dunno, you always struck me as being a duck.

Standards for pages

When creating a page for a toon, there are certain standards to keep in mind. The first thing we like to greet a viewer with is a nice screenshot. This is followed by a second level header "Summary". A short summary follows, but make sure we don't give too much away. Then, a bolded "Features" line lists the characters or people involved in the toon, in order of appearance. Then, a line is used to seperate the "Additional Features", which contains the links to the Transcript, EasterEggs, User Comments, and then links to the toon itself. The first three are always done as subpages (((/Transcript)), ((/EasterEggs)), and ((/Comments)))of the toon itself. Also, more recent toons (That is, the ones that have come out since May 8, 2004) have the User Comments page replaced by a link to a thread about the toon in the forum.

Now we are going to need some links to some examples...

And put standards for the EasterEggs pages... and lots of other stuff...

I'm thinking we could also have some examples of the code, since it is so hard to put in words... Like this:

Standards for Easter Eggs

Easter Egg pages need to look like this, using Strong Bad is in Jail Cartoon:

Easter Eggs

Fun Facts

The Latest News
It's all true. All the rumors are true. The crime is on the rise in our very own town. Trust me on this one. I know what I'm talking about. No, wait. I don't. I make stuff up sometimes. That's cool, though, right? Good. I'll keep doing it then. It's a lot easy than fact checking. That stuff can be annoying.
This is then repeated eight times to fill up the paper.

which, in the edit box, looks like this:
=== Easter Eggs ===
*If you wait around after the toon, you will get a a special MarzipansAnsweringMachine message, and you will see ((The Poopsmith)) still tied up behind the fence. ((Homestar Runner)) comes back to interrogate him.

=== Fun Facts ===
*Stolen goods that ((Strong Bad)) and ((The Cheat)) have stashed behind the fence:
**The Trivia Time cookie jar (see ((Rejects/Trivia Time)))
**((Strong Sad))'s iPod
**PomPom's ((Pom Pilot))
**((Creepy Comb-over Strong Bad))'s plastic Aldi bag
**((Rejects/Frank Bennedetto|Frank Bennedetto)) (the popcorn popper)
**The Thank You sign from ((Marzipan))'s living room
**Bags of "some savings"

*The newspaper Marzipan is reading says:
:'''{{The Latest News}}'''
:{{It's all true.  All the rumors are true.  The crime is on the rise in our very own town.  Trust me on this one.  I know what I'm talking about.  No, wait.  I don't.  I make stuff up sometimes. That's cool, though, right?  Good.  I'll keep doing it then.  It's a lot easy than fact checking.  That stuff can be annoying.}}
:This is then repeated eight times to fill up the paper.

*After ((The Poopsmith)) is captured, Strong Sad's iPod like device is present behind Strong Bad near the fence. The screen of this device says:
**{{playlists}}
**{{songs}}
**{{settings}}

*The title of the page is "The Bighouse!" At one time however, when the toon first appeared, the title was "Compy 386!!" just like a StrongBadEmail. This was fixed/changed to "The Bighouse!" within the first day.

*The phrase "We can retire to the MOOOooooooooooooon!" is a reference to ((StrongBadEmail/personal favorites))

*The Fireworks are called "Fthoom Bang Brand bottle rockets".

*If you zoom in on the floppy in Strong Bad's computer room/Strong Sad's Tai-Chi room, it is called "Shogun". Rather fitting, considering all the oriental stuff in the room.
**Note: Shogun is a an RPG type game in the style of Final Fantasy Tactics. Its first release was on NES under the title Nobunaga's Ambition.
**Shogun was also the name of an Infocom text adventure, widely considered to be the most disappointing title in their line of interactive fiction games. These games were reminiscent of the Thy Dungeonman series on the Homestar Runner website, but with better English parsers.

*The "videro" camera says "Property of ((Rejects/Kevin|Kevin))"

*The lighter ((The Cheat)) uses is the ((BMW lighter)).

*"Shivved" is prison slang for being stabbed, i.e "He got shivved after they found out he was a snitch". A "shiv" is an improvised sharp knife-like weapon made in prison.

*Prof. Tor Coolguy is a sort of play on Sol Badguy, a character from Guilty Gear.

Heading for Easter Eggs (if any), then list them in a bulleted list. Then heading for Fun Facts, then list them in a bulleted list.

I don't think there should be spaces seperating easter eggs and fun facts. Most of the pages don't have spaces and I have been using this standard. And it just plain looks better (more compact, easier to read.) --Hobophobic
