The Two Evil Tall Things Part Two

Book IV

Chapter One - The Hills of Mymn- Eul

"DorMor. The one place in Middle-Earh we don't want to see any closer is the one place we're trying to get to, and just where we can't get," said PomPom, floating up on a rock, looking over the hills towards DorMor, "Let's face it, we're lost. Strong Sad didn't mean for us to come this way."
"Oh, stupid, he didn't mean for a lot of things to happen!" Homestar said, climbing the same rock.
They were in the hills of Mymn-Eul, a rocky, sharp, misty place that almost looked like a volcano.
"Ugh! This frweakin' staw is getting heavier!" Homestar said.
PomPom sat down and rumaged through his bag. Homestar sat down beside him and took a drink.
"What food do we have?"
"Well, let's see. Oh, great. Lambes bread. Look! More lambes bread!" PomPom said.
PomPom threw a piece for Homestar and ate some himself.
"I usually don't like foreign food, but this Elvish stuff isn't bad," PomPom said.
Climbing over the rocky terrain, they continued to travel.
"This is familiar," Homestar said.
"We've been here before. We're going in circles," PomPom said.
"What is that smell? I wonder if there's, like, a witches broo someby?"
"Yeah, I can smell it," PomPom said, then turned to Homestar, "Homestar, we're not alone."

They slept, but were cold, for they had little blanket, which most could not fit over PomPom.
Thunder roared.
"They're thieves. Filthy little thieves! Where is it? They stoles it from us my Precious! Curse them, we hates them! We wants it," Zollum, the creature asked as he climbed down the rocks. The creature was half- human like, crawling on all fours. Big eyes, slimy body. His ribs and spine could easily be seen through the bumps on his skin. He wore a loin-cloth, and his hair was little, just a couple of long strings of it hanging down.
But then he flew off the rock and onto his back.
"Hold him down, Homestar!" PomPom yelled, holding his right arm down. Zollum jumped up and onto PomPom's back and pulled him down choking him.
PomPom blubbled constantly and loud. Homestar pulled out Stang and held it up to Zollum's neck.
"Get me a glass of Mewonade!" Homestar yelled. Zollum raised his neck to get away from the blade, showing his veins.
"Homestar!" PomPom blubbled.
"Oh, yeah, let PomPom go, too," Homestar said. Zollum losened his grasp on PomPom.
"It bit me! That stupid thing!" PomPom yelled, looking at the fading bite mark in his bubble. It slowly disapeared with a pop.

They tied his scrawny neck with a rope, not to tight. He wrenched upon the ground.
"It chokes us, it does!" it yelled.
"Pitiful," PomPom blubbled and pulled the rope, pulling Zollum closer.
"AHHH!" it shrieked.
"Oh, it's hopeless! Every Ungurait in DorMor is gonna hear this...thing," PomPom said, "Let's just tie him to a rock and leave him."
"No! No, that...that would kill us!"
"It's no more than you deserve!"
It moved across the ground.
"Oh yeah, PomPom, he totally deserves to die," Homestar said.
PomPom smiled.
"But I do pity him! Isn't he so cute? Yes he is! Oh yesh he's is!"
Zollum looked up at Homestar as PomPom sighed.
"W-We be nice to them, if they be nice to us. Ta-take it off us! We swears to do what you wants!"
"Like I can twust you, you wittle cutie!"
"We swears to serve the master of the Precious!"
"Pwecious?!? What the heck are you talking abowt?!?"
PomPom whispered to Homestar.
"Ohhh! The staw!"
PomPom closed his eyes and sighed, for there was nothing helpfull about mentioning the star this close to DorMor.
"We swears to serve the master of the Precious, we will swear on... on... the Precious! Zollum, Zollum! " Zollum made a coughing noise, as coughing up a hairball.
"What was that?!?" asked Homestar again.
"Oh, oh, nothing, nothing," Zollum said.
"So... we have a servant now!"
"I don't belive you!"
PomPom bounced forward and grabbed hold of the rope, pulling Zollum to the ground.
"Oh, PomPom!"
"He's trying to trick us!"
Zollum gasped for air and PomPom let him go.
"Uh... let's see... um... Oh! Oh! I got it I got it! You have to... go get me a gwass of mewonade!"
"Melonade?" asked Zollum, confused.
"Oh, nevermind. Uh, let's see... uh... oh! Oh! I got it again! Do you know the way to... MorDor?"
"It's DorMor, Homestar," PomPom blubbled.
"Rwight, rwight. DorMor. Do you know the way to DorMor? T-That's what I meant. DorMor."
"Yes," Zollum replied.
"Wait- Wait. You've been there before?" asked Homestar.
"Yes," Zollum replied again.
Homestar took the rope off Zollum.
"Then come on! You're gonna wead us to the Black Gate!"

Long ago, in the second age, there were forged nineteen great stars, each bestowing long life and magical powers upon the wearer. But Lord Ungurait, Dark Lord of DorMor, treacherously wrought a Ruling Star, mixing it's molten gold with his own blood and life force, by which he intended to bring all the other stars under his own control. Deep inside Mount Boom he forged it, and over it he chanted the Star-spell which would bring it to life:
Three Stas for the Elven-King under the sky
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone
Nine for the Mortal Men doomed to die
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the land of DorMor where the shadows lie
One star to rule them all, One star to find them
One star to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the land of DorMor where the shadows lie
The three stars held by the Elves remained untouched by his evil, and the rings of the Dwarfs were safely secured; but the nine held by men succumbed to him and those who wore them were ensnared, condemned to walk in the permanent twillight of his Eye, reduced to the state of Ringwraiths.
PomPom thought about all this as he climbed the rocky terrain trying to keep up with Zollum.
He then thought about Is-ill-dur and Strong Sad talking about it to him. He still couldn't believe it. It had to be fate. That one man, who defeated Lord Ungurait's servants and Lord Ungurait himself, who was killed in Galdan Fields, lost the star. It fell to the bottom of the river, till thousands of years later, Freegul picked it up. It corrupted him, and he crawled around in the Misty Mountains, getting weaker and more hunched over. His face stretched. Until finally he became the creature Zollum.
"Comes on, comes on, hurrys it up!" Zollum said to them.

The came over a hill and looked out. There weren't any hills, just a long, bumpy slope down.
"See, see? Zolum leads you out of the hills!"
PomPom looked out over the land and towards DorMor.
"You're sure this is the right way to the Black Gate?" he blubbled.
"Yes, yes, come on, come on!"
The climbed down the slope and started to walk along through what already seemed like an endless stretch of land towards the moutains that surrounded DorMor.

Chapter 2 - The Passage through the Marshes

"Ugh! What's that horrible smell?" asked PomPom, smelling the fumes rising from the damp ground.
"We leads you through the marshes, yes, the marshes. Don't follow the lights, no, be very quiet!" Zollum said.
Homestar stepped down into some marsh by accident. It made a slimy sound as he pulled it back out, his white now green.
"Gwoss." Homestar said and walked on. Zollum bounced ahead of them.
"Stay away from the lights, yes."
PomPom and Zollum heard a splashing sound behind them. Homestar wasn't there.
"Homestar!" PomPom blubbled.
Homestar splashed up out of the muck. He spat some out of his mouth.
"DON'T...FOLLOW...THE LIGHTS!!!" Zollum said as he bounced on.
Homestar spat more out.

Everybody slept under a some plant except Zollum, who stood crouching down on his hind legs.
"So bright, so beautiful, our precioussss."
Homestar looked at Zollum.
"What? What did you say?"
"You should be resting. Master needs to keep up his strength."
"Stwong Sad said your life was a sad story. Smeagol?"
"What did you call me?"
"That was your name wonce, wasn’t it? A wong time ago."
"My name? My name? Ss... Ss... Sméagol."
A loud roar was heard. PomPom jumped up as Zollum screamed.
PomPom's eyes got wider.
"Black Riders!"

"Hide! Hide!" Zollum screamed.
Homestar suddenly felt a sharp pain where he had been stabbed. He saw the white faces of the Nine and relived the stabbing. He yelled. PomPom dragged him into the cover.
"I thought they were dead!" PomPom said.
"Dead? No, you cannot kill them. No."
The black rider rode upon Trogdor. The rider sniffed, and Trogdor roared as they went lower. The rider passed over their head.
"Ahhh! Wraiths on wings!" Zollum said.
Homestar looked at the star.
"They are calling for it, they are calling for the Precious!" Zollum said.
"Oh, then I'll just go give it to them!" Homestar stood up.
"Hey, Mr. Starwra- Ugh!" PomPom and Zollum attacked him and the fell in the muck.
They strugled with him as the Nazgul flew away on Trogdor.
"Whew!" PomPom sighed.
"Hurry, hurry, the Black Gate is very close!" Zollum said and bounced off.

They traveled a few more hours until pulling themselves over a rock to face the Black Gate. They were on the top of a slope, crouching behind a rock.
"The Black Gate of DorMor!" Zollum said.
The Black Gate was a gigantic structure. A large valley was formed in the mountains surrounding DorMor, where a large, black wall was built. To open it two large trolls on both sides of the gate were forced to pull chains attached to the gate, allowing it to slowly open. Many Unguraits walked atop the gate. Part metal and part wood, the gate was not easy to pass.
"Master says to show him the way into DorMor, so Smeagol does!"
Armed and armored Unguraits walked along the top of the gate.
"That’s it then, we can’t get past that," PomPom blubbled.
Soldiers yelled orders in a different language, and a large group of easterlings marched towards the gate. A horn blared, and Zollum cringed. The large trolls slowly walk, pulling the chains behind them, opening the gate.
"Look. The gate! It's opening," PomPom said.
He climbed further out onto the rocks.
"I can see a way down!"
The rock gave way.
"PomPom!" Homestar said.
He followed after PomPom.
"Master!" Zollum said.
He followed after Homestar.
Two soldiers noticed the rocks sliding down the slope and stopped to look, but then turned away. For they covered themselves with an Elvish cloak that got covered in gravel. They then threw it off them.
"Now!" PomPom said.
"No!" Zollum said and grabbed them back, "No, no master, they catch you, they catch you! Don’t take it to him. He wants the Precious. Always he’s looking for it, and the Precious is wanting to go back to him. But we mustn’t let him have it."
Homestar tried again but Zollum again grabbed him.
"No! There’s another way. A secret, a dark way."
"Why haven’t you spoken of this before?!?
"There's another way into DorMor!?!" asked PomPom.
"Yes. There’s a pass, and some stairs, and then...a tunnel."
"I don't trust yo-"
"Let's go!" Homestar interrupted.
PomPom shook his head. He was certain they were being lead into a trap. He looked over at the Black Gate.
It clanged close.
