I'm not sure, but I think the bad translation ("Your head a splode!") is supposed to be a reference to the famous Zero Wing ("All your base are belong to us!"). TW *I doubt that. "All your base are belong to us" is engrish. I think "Your head a splode" is just making fun of how crappy computer generated voices from that era tend to pronounce things. --Hobophobic *Well, SB does specifically say something about bad translations, but I doubt it has anything to do with Zero Wing; a lot of games had awful translations back then. Zero Wing was spectacularly bad, but it's not the only bad translation or even the worst. --Xhad The title in all of the video games' browser box "...I Hunger!" is a reference to the old arcade game Sinistar. There was a giant head in that game, too, which you had to try and explode. Sinistar talked throughout the game, and some of what he said was, "I am Sinistar! I hunger!" |
